Lazy Quickie Recipe – The ”Campbell” Pasta

There are some days where you are so lazy to cook…what more when it’s just for you and it seems like such an effort to go out and buy something. The instant stuff don’t seem to cut it either (as in Maggi/ramen) and during these times, I like to make pasta. A good friend of mine taught me how to make carbonara, but I did not have the cooking cream this time round.

I had some Campbell Chicken soup cans instead and decided to make use of one of them! Also ransacked the kitchen for the other ingredients and it turned out to be quite the comfort food to have on a rainy day…


1 Can of Campbell Soup (Mushroom/Chicken..I used chicken, since it already has cooked chicken bits in it 😉 )

2/3 Cloves of Garlic


Dried Thyme

1/2 cup water/milk

1/2 of a big yellow onion

Salt + Black Pepper

Olive Oil


1. Boil the pasta according to directions, drain and set aside. Chop up the garlic and onion. Open the can of soup with your trusty can opener.

2. In a pan/pot, drizzle olive oil and when hot, add thyme, garlic and onion. Stir till fragrant. Fresh thyme would be really yummy, by the way.

3. Add in the pasta and stir till mixed properly. Add in the can of soup (or half of it if you would not like it too thick). Add the milk/water in small amounts while stirring till it reaches the consistency that you want.

4. Season accordingly with salt and black pepper. Enjoy!
